Some themes I'd like to consider:
- What can Democrats learn from Republicans?
- How have Democrats lost their way?
- Can one be a "born-again Christian" AND a good Democrat? (This is not a trick question!)
- Conversely, can one be a good Christian AND a card-carrying Republican? (Likewise, let's consider the question seriously.)
- Is it possible (or advisable) to develop a political platform based on a few core principles? Some possible themes come to mind...
- How can we as private citizens shift the political dialogue away from fear and loathing?
- What IS the proper role of government in our daily lives?
- Is it possible for government and religion to work together without magnifying the worst qualities of both?
